Sushi with a side of stars
Start the evening with Akira Back’s Lobster Miso, then move into shared plates like the Salmon Carpaccio, Wagyu Tataki, or Truffle Scallop. After kicking back Akira’s signature Plum Sake, revel in fresh sushi rolls with choices of Blue Fin Tuna Belly roll, Foie Gras & Wagyu Beef, or perhaps an ‘007 Octopussy’ roll. Fresh salmon, wagyu or toro are featured and stone-seared at 1000 degrees, accompanied by ponzu oroshi, salt sesame oil and mustard soy garlic. For Japanese Whisky lovers, Lumi’s bar will star a Toki Japanese Highball machine: yielding ice-cold, lusciously fizzy, perfectly-blended concoctions.
Located above Huntress, a contemporary steakhouse, Lumi by Akira Back lights up the night through punchy pops of color, three dimensional art features, and unexpected “photo ops”. With San Diego as the backdrop, Akira Back’s confident and adventurous take on Japanese cuisine and sushi is elevated by live DJ beats and a social, vibey restaurant atmosphere in downtown San Diego’s historic Gaslamp District.
